Designed as a replacement assembly component for Walvoil SD6 Series sectional directional control valves, the SD6 Series Walvoil Tie Rod Kit provides the hardware needed to secure valve sections in multi-section configurations. The SD6 platform supports assemblies ranging from one to twelve sections and is compatible with open and closed center hydraulic systems operating in parallel, tandem, or series circuits.
The SD6 series is rated to 4,600 PSI in parallel or tandem circuit configurations and 3,050 PSI in series circuit arrangements, with a flow rating of 12 GPM. Standard Buna-N seals cover fluid temperatures from -4°F to 176°F, and the assembly is suited for ambient conditions from -40°F to 140°F. Recommended filtration is ISO 4406 19/16. Fluid viscosity operating range is 80 to 400 SSU, with a minimum of 70 SSU and maximum of 1,950 SSU.

Question by: Rusty M on Feb 22, 2026, 11:34 AM
got a SD6 series valve on a piece of equipment and need to know if this tie rod kit will hold up running mineral oil through it -- what kind of fluid temps can it handle?
Answer by: Customer Support on Feb 24, 2026, 6:56 AM
Mineral oil is exactly what the performance data was measured with, so you're in good shape there. Fluid temperature range with the standard Buna-N seals runs from -4°F up to 176°F, and the ambient operating window goes from -40°F to 140°F. Just keep your system viscosity between 80 and 400 SSU during normal operation and you won't have any issues on that front.
