SD8 Series Walvoil SDS150 RE/RK POWER BEYOND/CLOSED

Description & Features

The SD8 Series Walvoil SDS150 RE/RK Power Beyond/Closed is a compact and robust sectional valve. It is designed for open and closed center hydraulic systems and features a variety of configurations, including parallel, tandem, or series circuits. Each work section includes a load check valve, ensuring reliable performance.

This valve can handle up to 21 GPM of flow and is capable of operating at a maximum pressure of 4600 PSI. It also includes a main pressure relief valve to support safe operation. The fluid temperature range with standard Buna-N seals is -4deg;F to 176deg;F, while the ambient temperature range is -40deg;F to 140deg;F.

Options for manual, pneumatic, hydraulic, electro-hydraulic, solenoid, or cable controls are available, making it adaptable for various applications. Additionally, an optional power beyond port is available to extend usability.

To minimize internal leakage, which does not exceed 0.18 insup3;/min at 1450 PSI differential pressure, this valve is engineered with precision. The unit functions best with fluid viscosity between 80 to 400 SSU operating and a maximum back pressure of 360 PSI on the outlet port T. Recommended filtration is ISO 4406 19/16.

Question by: Johnny P on Jun 14, 2025, 9:10 PM
got a 21 gpm system, is this valve gonna keep up or am i pushing it
Answer by: Customer Support on Jun 15, 2025, 9:11 PM
With a 21 GPM flow rating, it lines up with a 21 GPM hydraulic system on paper. It is also rated up to 4600 PSI maximum operating pressure, so it is built for higher pressure work as well.
Question by: Bobby A on Apr 26, 2025, 1:30 PM
Does the 4600 PSI max pressure on this valve hold up running loader circuits all day, or is that more of a peak rating you shouldn't lean on too hard?
Answer by: Customer Support on Apr 28, 2025, 6:09 AM
Running continuous loader cycles is well within what this valve handles. The 4600 PSI maximum operating pressure is the ceiling, and staying below it during normal duty keeps things stable. The fluid temperature range tops out at 176°F with the standard Buna-N seals, so as long as your system isn't pushing heat past that threshold, you're not going to be fighting seal degradation from prolonged use. Keep your filtration at ISO 4406 19/16 and your viscosity between 80 and 400 SSU while operating, and this thing is built to go all day without complaint.
Question by: Lynn A on Feb 22, 2026, 8:06 PM
got a setup that needs power beyond. is there a power beyond port on this outlet cover or am i barking up the wrong tree
Answer by: Customer Support on Feb 24, 2026, 6:22 AM
Optional power beyond is part of this SD8 Series outlet cover setup, so you can configure it with a power beyond port when you need to feed downstream valves.
Question by: Kurt J on Jan 31, 2026, 6:55 AM
Will this valve work okay in colder weather, like down to -20 degrees sometimes?
Answer by: Customer Support on Feb 2, 2026, 6:30 AM
While the valve itself can handle ambient temperatures down to -40°F, keep in mind the standard Buna-N seals are only rated to -4°F. You might need to look into different seal materials if you're consistently operating below that.
Question by: Norm J on May 19, 2025, 5:04 PM
what's the max pressure this valve can handle, and is it gonna hold up running a closed center system all day?
Answer by: Customer Support on May 20, 2025, 7:46 PM
Rated at 4600 PSI maximum operating pressure, so it's got plenty of headroom for most demanding closed center setups. It supports both open and closed center hydraulic systems right out of the box, and every work section comes with a load check valve built in. Internal leakage is kept real tight too, no more than 0.18 cubic inches per minute at 1450 PSI differential, so you're not bleeding off performance sitting at pressure between cycles.
