The Sectional/Monoblock Directional Valve Walvoil SD8/1 Tie Rod Kit is a versatile and heavy-duty solution for open and closed center hydraulic systems. This robust sectional valve can be configured from 1 to 12 sections and includes key features such as a main pressure relief valve and a load check valve on each work section. It is suitable for a wide range of industrial applications with an ambient temperature range from -40deg;F to 140deg;F and fluid temperature range from -4deg;F to 176deg;F with standard Buna-N seals.

With a flow rating of 21 GPM the valve offers flexibility with available manual pneumatic hydraulic electro-hydraulic solenoid or cable controls. The Walvoil SD8 series valve is designed to operate efficiently with mineral oil of 215 SSU viscosity at 104deg;F and an internal leakage rate of 0.18 insup3;/min at 1450 PSI differential pressure.

For added adaptability the valve provides optional power beyond port and can be arranged in parallel tandem or series circuits. Additionally this valve conforms to ISO 4406 19/16 recommended filtration standards.

The maximum operating pressure is 4600 PSI and the maximum back pressure on the outlet port T is 360 PSI making it a reliable selection for demanding hydraulic operations.

valve's rated to 4600 PSI but what's the limit on the return port? got a back pressure situation i'm trying to work around

The outlet port T on this valve tops out at 360 PSI back pressure. Keep your return line conditions under that threshold and you should be fine. Exceeding it could affect valve performance and potentially cause seal issues over time.

What kind of hydraulic fluid does this valve like best?

Performance data was measured using mineral oil with a viscosity of 215 SSU at 104°F, so that's what Walvoil recommends.
