The Walvoil SDS150 Series sectional valve features a robust design, capable of functioning in both open and closed center hydraulic systems. It offers configurations from 1 to 12 sections.
The valve incorporates a main pressure relief valve and a load check valve on every work section. It can operate at a maximum flow rate of 24 GPM, and supports fluid temperatures from -4deg;F to 176deg;F with standard Buna-N seals.
Engineered to manage operating pressures up to 4600 PSI for parallel or tandem circuits, and 3050 PSI for series circuits, it ensures reliable performance under high pressure conditions.
The sectional valve is available with multiple control options including manual, pneumatic, hydraulic, electro-hydraulic, or cable controls. Additionally, it offers an optional power beyond port and has interchangeable spools for flexibility.
Performance data is based on mineral oil with 215 SSU viscosity at 104deg;F. The recommended filtration is ISO 4406 19/16, ensuring clean and efficient operation.
With an internal leakage rate of 0.18 insup3;/min at a 1450 PSI differential pressure, and a maximum back pressure of 360 PSI on the outlet port T, this valve ensures efficient fluid control in industrial applications.

Question by: Connie P on Nov 7, 2025, 11:15 AM
runs pretty hot out where we use this thing, ambient temps can spike hard in summer. what's the safe range for this valve?
Answer by: Customer Support on Nov 8, 2025, 4:29 PM
Ambient temps between -40°F and -140°F are within spec for this valve. On the fluid side, you've got a range of -4°F to 176°F with the standard Buna-N seals. Long summer days with high heat loads shouldn't push you outside those limits under normal conditions, but keep an eye on your fluid temps staying under that 176°F ceiling.

does this valve work on both open and closed center systems, or do i need a specific version for one or the other?
Answer by: Customer Support on Feb 1, 2026, 8:52 PM
Works on both. The SDS150 is built to handle open and closed center hydraulic systems without needing a different version for each. You can also run it in parallel, tandem, or series circuits depending on how your system is set up. Series circuits are rated to 3050 PSI, while parallel and tandem configurations handle up to 4600 PSI, so just match the circuit type to your pressure requirements.

Will this work on an open center system?
Answer by: Customer Support on Apr 8, 2025, 8:57 AM
It is designed for both open and closed center hydraulic systems, so it should work in your setup.
