Product Questions & Answers (3)

Question by: Kirk G on Jan 1, 2026, 10:20 AM
What's the highest pressure this tubing can handle without bursting?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jan 2, 2026, 1:09 PM
Based on the Barlow formula, the burst pressure for this tubing is 15,600 PSI, but keep in mind the maximum working pressure is 2600 PSI, with a 6:1 safety factor. Always refer to safety information when selecting tubing.
Question by: Rod P on Sep 3, 2025, 7:32 PM
what's the working pressure on this tubing and is that with some kind of safety buffer already baked in?
Answer by: Customer Support on Sep 5, 2025, 6:25 AM
The rated working pressure is 2600 psi, and yes, that figure already reflects a 6:1 safety factor applied to the burst pressure of 15,600 psi. That safety margin is calculated for conditions where hydraulic shock and mechanical strain are considered considerable. If your application runs into more severe shock conditions, the manufacturer recommends stepping up to an 8:1 safety factor, which brings your working pressure down from that 2600 psi figure. On the flip side, if shock and strain are genuinely minimal in your setup, a 4:1 factor and higher working pressures can be carefully considered.
Question by: Pete M on Sep 15, 2025, 12:59 PM
trying to match up tubing i already got, what are the actual OD and ID on this one?
Answer by: Customer Support on Sep 16, 2025, 3:25 PM
For sizing, you are looking at a 0.5625 inch outside diameter with a 0.4325 inch inside diameter, using a 0.065 inch wall thickness.
