Single & Double Wire Braid SAE 100R17 Hose, 0.38 Inch ID, Up to 3000.00 PSI

Description & Features

Engineered for demanding hydraulic applications, this single & double wire braid SAE 100R17 hose boasts a 0.38-inch inner diameter and supports operating pressures up to 3000 PSI. Its robust construction features a synthetic rubber tube and reinforcement of either single or double wire braid, depending on the size.

Suitable for general industrial and hydraulic system service with petroleum and water-based fluids, it is particularly recommended for high-pressure oil lines used on construction equipment and other off-highway applications.

The hose cover, made from ozone-resistant black synthetic rubber, ensures durability, while its conductive construction safeguards against static electricity. With a minimum bend radius of 2.5 inches and a temperature range from -40deg;F to 212deg;F, this hose offers reliable performance in a range of environments.

Question by: Rick B on Dec 5, 2025, 1:23 PM
got a -6 line on a piece of equipment, is this the right hose size or am i thinkin of something else
Answer by: Customer Support on Dec 7, 2025, 6:53 AM
For dash size, this one is a -6 hose with a 0.38 inch inside diameter. If your current hose is marked -6, the ID matches what you are replacing.
Question by: Billy B on Jul 29, 2025, 1:49 PM
what's the pressure rating on this hose and is it consistent across all sizes, or does the -6 drop off compared to the bigger ones?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jul 30, 2025, 7:55 PM
For the -6 dash size, you're looking at a 3000 PSI maximum operating pressure. That rating holds for this specific hose. Worth knowing that the -6 uses a single wire braid reinforcement, while the larger sizes like -10, -12, and -16 step up to double wire braid. The pressure spec you see here applies to this dash size as purchased.
Question by: Vince M on Mar 31, 2025, 6:14 AM
What kind of fluids can I run through this hose?
Answer by: Customer Support on Apr 2, 2025, 6:07 AM
This hose is suitable for refined petroleum based fluids. It's also good for general industrial and hydraulic systems using petroleum and water-based fluids.
Question by: Hugh F on Sep 13, 2025, 8:17 PM
got a tight spot to snake a hose through, how tight can i bend this -6 line without kinking it?
Answer by: Customer Support on Sep 15, 2025, 9:59 AM
For a -6 (0.38 inch ID) FC639-06 hose, the minimum bend radius is 2.5 inches. Staying at or above that radius is the safe limit given for the hose.
