got a 3 inch hose and i need to screw into a 3 inch male pipe port. is this the right fitting for that?
Answer by: Customer Support on May 18, 2025, 6:28 PM
For that setup, you are looking at a carbon steel fitting with a 3 inch hose barb on one end and a 3 inch male pipe thread on the other, so it is meant to join a 3 inch hose to a threaded connection.

Got a 3-inch hose I'm trying to tie into a threaded port on a pump housing. This fitting work for something like that?
Answer by: Customer Support on Nov 13, 2025, 8:41 PM
That's exactly the kind of connection this fitting handles. One end is a 3-inch hose barb that slips into your hose, and the other end is a 3-inch male pipe thread that screws into a threaded port. Carbon steel construction keeps it solid under the kind of stress you'd see in industrial hydraulic setups. As long as your hose ID and port thread both measure out at 3 inches, you've got a match.

So this fitting's got a hose barb on one side and a pipe thread on the other? Just want to make sure I'm understanding it right.

That's correct. This Kuriyama KC fitting has a 3" hose barb on one end and a 3" male pipe thread on the other, connected by carbon steel.
