Constructed from Type 316 stainless steel, this 1-inch Type D Camlock coupling is suited for industrial fluid transfer applications where corrosion resistance and durability are priorities. The Type D configuration is a female coupler that accepts a male adapter, making it a standard choice for quick-connect hose and fitting assemblies across chemical processing, food-grade, and general industrial fluid handling systems.
The SS 316 Camlock D Style 1 In is supplied by CAN Industrial under the Hsc brand. Type 316 stainless steel offers enhanced resistance to chlorides and a range of corrosive media compared to Type 304, making this coupling appropriate for more demanding fluid compatibility requirements. The 1-inch size suits moderate-flow line connections where a reliable, tool-free coupling is needed.

Question by: Gary J on Apr 13, 2025, 5:00 PM
We run a lot of chemical lines and keep getting corrosion issues with our current couplings. Would 316 stainless hold up better than what we're probably using now?
Answer by: Customer Support on Apr 15, 2025, 6:23 AM
Type 316 stainless steel carries better resistance to chlorides and corrosive media than Type 304, which is what most standard couplings are made from. If your current fittings are 304 or carbon steel, switching to 316 on chemical lines is a meaningful upgrade. It's a common move in chemical processing environments for exactly the reason you're describing.

Will this here camlock handle some brake cleaner without falling apart on me?
Answer by: Customer Support on Nov 8, 2025, 6:48 AM
Type 316 stainless steel offers enhanced resistance to a range of corrosive media compared to Type 304, making this coupling appropriate for demanding fluid compatibility requirements including some exposure to brake cleaner. However, continuous or prolonged exposure should be avoided.
