Manufactured from stainless steel, this straight reducer adapter connects a female JIC 37° flare to a 9/16-18 male JIC 37° flare, allowing two different-sized JIC lines to be joined in a single inline fitting. The 0.38" tube OD and 9/16-18 male thread make it straightforward to identify for replacement or system integration work.
The Stainless Steel Adapter, Female JIC 37 deg Flare To 9/16-18 Male JIC 37 deg Flare, Straight Reducer is part of the SSP Fittings Corp 37° Flare Union Stainless Steel Adapters product line. Stainless steel construction makes it well suited for hydraulic and fluid power applications where corrosion resistance is a priority, including high-moisture environments or systems handling aggressive media.

Question by: Brett D on Jan 16, 2026, 7:27 PM
trying to swap out an old JIC reducer, is this one the kind that goes from a female 37 degree flare over to a 9/16-18 male JIC?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jan 18, 2026, 9:34 AM
For a fit check, the key identifiers are a female JIC 37° flare on one end and a 9/16-18 male JIC 37° flare on the other, in a straight inline reducer body. It is also called out with a 0.38 inch tube OD, which helps when you are matching it up to an existing line size.

got a 3/8 tube line that needs to step down to a 9/16-18 male JIC connection, this the right fitting for that?
Answer by: Customer Support on Nov 13, 2025, 4:34 PM
For a 3/8 inch OD tube on the female side connecting to a 9/16-18 male JIC thread, yes, that's exactly what this reducer is built for. Both ends use the 37 degree flare seat, so as long as your existing lines are JIC flare fittings, it'll mate up inline without any adapters in between. The part number is J8-6TER if you need to cross-reference it against your current parts list.
