Question by: Rick O on Nov 18, 2025, 8:53 PM
Got a line running 3/8 NPT male off a pump and need to step it down to a 1/4 female port on a valve body. This bushing gonna handle that transition straight up, or do I need something else in between?
Answer by: Customer Support on Nov 20, 2025, 6:14 AM
That's exactly what this fitting is built for. The 3/8-18 male threads on the outside thread into your existing 3/8 NPT port, and the 1/4-18 female opening on the inside accepts whatever 1/4 NPT male fitting you're connecting to the valve. No additional adapters needed for that transition. At just 0.85 inches long, it fits tight into close-clearance installations without a lot of fuss.

got a port that’s 1/4-18 female NPT but my line is 3/8-18 male NPT, is this the right bushing to step it down
Answer by: Customer Support on Oct 4, 2025, 6:50 AM
For stepping down between two NPT pipe sizes, this bushing is made for exactly that combination. One side is 3/8-18 male NPT and the other side is 1/4-18 female NPT, so it lets you adapt a larger female port to accept a smaller male connection.
