Question by: Tony S on Nov 5, 2025, 7:07 AM
what industries is this adapter actually used in, or is it just for one specific type of setup?
Answer by: Customer Support on Nov 7, 2025, 6:30 AM
Quite a few industries run this fitting regularly. Marine and military applications use it, along with chemical processing, pulp and paper use, food and beverage processing, and offshore drilling. The 90 degree elbow configuration makes it practical anywhere you need to redirect flow in a tight space without adding extra fittings to do it.
Question by: Randy B on Apr 22, 2025, 12:16 PM
does this adapter need any thread sealant when you put it together, or does it seal up on its own?
Answer by: Customer Support on Apr 24, 2025, 6:39 AM
No sealant required on this one. The JIC 37 degree flare connection seals metal to metal, so adding thread sealant would actually be unnecessary and could cause more problems than it solves. Just make sure the mating surfaces are clean and the flare seats properly and you're good to go.
