got a hose with a -16 end, will this fitting match up to a 1-5/16-12 JIC female swivel?
Answer by: Customer Support on Apr 12, 2025, 8:23 AM
It is a -16 hose size crimp nipple with a 1-5/16-12 female JIC 37 degree flare swivel on the thread end.
Question by: Sherry G on Mar 17, 2026, 4:15 PM
does this fitting need any kind of thread sealant or mandrel when you're putting it together, or does it just crimp straight onto the hose?
Answer by: Customer Support on Mar 19, 2026, 6:32 AM
No sealant and no mandrel needed. The skive process handles the hose prep, and the crimp does the sealing work. Just skive the hose end per spec and crimp it down. That keeps the install straightforward and cuts out a couple of steps that can cause problems if done wrong.
