both ends on this thing are female JIC swivel, right? just want to make sure before I order cause I need to connect two female-threaded lines together

Correct on both counts. Each end carries a 7/8-14 female JIC thread with a 37-degree flare swivel, so it functions as a union between two male JIC fittings or lines terminating in male JIC ends. The swivel feature on each side lets you make up the connection without twisting the hoses or tubing, which saves a lot of grief during installation.
