what industries is this adapter actually used in? trying to figure out if it fits what we do before ordering

trying to hook up a female npt port to a jic hose end, does this elbow do that or am i lookin at the wrong thing

Function-wise it bridges those two connection types in a 90 degree elbow. One side is a 1-1/2-11-1/2 female NPT (NPTF internal pipe) and the other side is a 1-7/8-12 male JIC with a 37 degree flare, so it’s meant for exactly that kind of NPT to JIC transition.
