i’ve got a -16 hose, does this one match up and what kind of ends are we talking about

fitting says no thread sealant needed -- is that right for a JIC 37 degree flare connection?

JIC 37 degree flare connections seal on the metal-to-metal contact between the flare surfaces, so thread sealant like tape or pipe dope would actually interfere with that seal rather than help it. Just make sure the mating flare surface is clean and undamaged before assembly, and torque it to the specified 117 to 125 lb/ft range on the second end hex.
