got a Kobelco excavator and need to tie into a JIC line off the pump, this adapter, it's going straight male to male on both ends?

Correct on both counts. One end is a 1-1/16-12 Male JIC with a 37 degree flare, and the other is M36 x 1.5 Male Kobelco thread.
