got a hose end that’s 7/8-14 JIC, will this adapter screw right into it and still give me a 1/2-14 pipe thread on the other side?
Answer by: Customer Support on Dec 3, 2025, 6:02 AM
On the JIC side it is a 7/8-14 male SAE 37 degree flare, and the pipe side is 1/2-14 male NPTF. So it mates to a 7/8-14 JIC female swivel for the flare connection, and it gives you a 1/2-14 male pipe thread on the other end.

got a hose with a 7/8-14 JIC flare on one end and i need to tie into a 1/2 pipe port. is this the right adapter?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jun 15, 2025, 6:19 AM
For that hookup, you want an adapter that has 7/8-14 male JIC 37 degree flare on one side and 1/2-14 male NPT on the other. This part is a straight adapter with exactly those two male ends.

Will this adapter work for connecting a 1/2 inch NPT male fitting to a 7/8 inch JIC 37 degree flare fitting?
Answer by: Customer Support on Oct 11, 2025, 8:49 AM
Yes, that's precisely what this adapter is designed for. It allows you to connect a 1/2-14 Male NPT to a 7/8-14 Male JIC 37 degree Flare.
Question by: Daryl J on Oct 17, 2025, 3:22 PM
what industries is this adapter actually built for? seen a lot of generic stuff out there and trying to figure out if this one holds up in real applications
Answer by: Customer Support on Oct 19, 2025, 6:30 AM
Eaton Aeroquip made this one for some pretty demanding environments. The listed applications include marine and military use, chemical processing, pulp and paper use, offshore drilling, and food and beverage processing. That's a solid cross-section of industries where connections need to hold under real conditions, not just shop air.
