got a hose end that’s -8 JIC, will this adapter screw right onto it or am i mixing up thread types

Function-wise, it is a straight steel adapter that goes from a 3/4-16 male JIC 37 degree flare on one end to a 7/8-14 male SAE O-Ring Boss on the other. Since both ends on this part are male, it would thread into matching female ports or fittings, not directly onto a male hose end.

trying to hook a sae o-ring boss port to a jic hose end, is this the right adapter?
