Got a 1/4 NPT port on a valve body and need to tie into a SAE O-ring face seal line, this the right adapter to bridge that gap?

Yeah, that's exactly the kind of transition this adapter handles. One end is an 11/16-16 Male SAE O-ring face seal, the other is a 1/4-18 Male NPT, straight through with no angle. The O-ring face seal side gives you a leak-resistant metal-to-metal contact with an O-ring seat, which tends to hold up better than a tapered thread alone in higher-demand hydraulic connections. As long as your valve port accepts a 1/4-18 male NPT fitting and your hose or tube end is set up for an 11/16-16 ORFS male connection, you're in good shape.
