Part of the Eaton Aeroquip 2040 Series, this Steel Adapter, 1/2-14 Male NPT To 3/4-14 Female NPT, Straight provides a reliable threaded connection between two different NPT pipe sizes in a compact, straight-body configuration. The countersunk hex drive design allows for secure installation in confined spaces where standard wrench access may be limited.
Suitable for grease lines, instrumentation circuits, and most hydraulic systems, this adapter is a practical solution for size transitions within a single fluid line. The NPTF thread form on both ends provides a pressure-tight mechanical seal without relying solely on sealant. With an overall length (A dimension) of 1.93 inches, the fitting adds minimal footprint to an assembly. The Eaton Aeroquip catalog number for this part is C1AY37.

does this adapter go from a smaller male pipe thread up to a bigger female end, or is it the other way around?
Answer by: Customer Support on May 17, 2025, 6:50 AM
The male end is 1/2-14 NPT and the female end is 3/4-14 NPT, so yes, you're stepping up in size. The smaller threaded male side connects into your existing port, and the larger female opening accepts the bigger fitting or line coming in. Straight configuration, no angle to it.

got a line with 1/2-14 male NPT on it, i need to step up to 3/4-14 female NPT. is that what this adapter does?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jul 21, 2025, 8:52 PM
Converts between those two pipe thread sizes in a straight adapter: 1/2-14 male NPT on one end and 3/4-14 female NPT on the other.
