got a 2 inch male nptf line on the machine and need to step it down, is this the bushing that goes 2-11-1/2 male to 1-1/4-11-1/2 female?

For stepping down pipe threads, this bushing matches a 2-11-1/2 male NPTF on one end and a 1-1/4-11-1/2 female NPTF on the other, so it is set up to reduce from 2 inch male NPTF to 1-1/4 inch female NPTF.

Got a 2-inch male NPT fitting coming off a pump and need to step it down to 1-1/4 inch female NPT. This bushing handle that, or am I looking at the wrong part?

That's exactly what this one does. It's a reducer bushing with a 2-11-1/2 male NPT on the outside and a 1-1/4-11-1/2 female NPT on the inside, so it threads into a 2-inch port and gives you a 1-1/4-inch female connection to work with. Made by Eaton Aeroquip, part of their 2081 series, and it's rated for grease lines, instrumentation, and most hydraulic systems.
