This rust-resistant steel wire construction ensures durability and robust protection in industrial environments. Designed to safeguard hose covers and reinforcement from abrasion and accidental damage, this steel protective coil spring with a 2.12-inch inner diameter (ID) is a reliable solution.
The coil fits snugly around the hose, providing optimal defense against wear and tear. For proper installation, it may be necessary to expand the coil's ID by unwinding it slightly, ensuring a secure fit.
Manufactured by Danfoss Power Solutions (II LLC Aeroquip), the coil spring is engineered specifically for hose protection applications. It is not designed to be machine mountable.

What's the deal with this coil spring? What's it supposed to do?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jan 20, 2026, 10:20 AM
It's designed to protect your hose cover from getting torn up by abrasion or accidental damage. Basically, it's a shield for your hose.
Question by: Daryl R on Feb 16, 2026, 9:49 PM
got a hose that takes a beating where it rubs the frame, is this coil spring mainly for keeping the outer cover from getting chewed up?
Answer by: Customer Support on Feb 18, 2026, 7:36 AM
Built for hose protection, it wraps around the hose to shield the cover and reinforcement from abrasion and accidental damage in industrial environments.

What size hose does this spring fit best?
Answer by: Customer Support on Aug 3, 2025, 6:36 AM
This protective coil is made for hoses with a 2.12-inch outer diameter. You might need to unwind it a bit to get it started.
Question by: Eddie P on Feb 3, 2026, 7:23 AM
does this coil just slide over the hose or do you gotta open it up some to get it on there?
Answer by: Customer Support on Feb 4, 2026, 2:10 PM
You'll likely need to unwind it slightly to open up the ID before fitting it over the hose. The coil is meant to sit snug once it's in place, but expanding it a bit first is pretty much part of the standard install process. Once you let it wind back down around the hose, it holds firm and does its job keeping the cover and reinforcement from taking abuse.
