fitting says "reduced bore" on it, what does that actually mean for flow compared to a full bore 2.38 inch flange?

The bore dimension on this fitting comes in at 2.56 inches for the D measurement, but the internal flow path through the hose end is sized to match the -24 hose it connects to rather than running the full flange diameter. In practice, that means you get a slight restriction compared to a full bore version at the same flange size. For most return line or lower-velocity applications it's a non-issue, but if you're pushing high flow rates through a tight circuit, it's worth accounting for in your pressure drop calculations before you commit.
