fitting says reduced bore, does that mean flow's gonna be restricted compared to a standard -05 fitting?
Answer by: Customer Support on Feb 12, 2026, 12:02 PM
Reduced bore does mean the internal flow path is slightly smaller than a full bore fitting of the same hose size. For most industrial hydraulic circuits that's not a problem, but if you're running a system that's sensitive to pressure drop or needs maximum flow throughput, it's worth accounting for that in your line sizing. The tradeoff is that the reduced bore design keeps the fitting body more compact and the two-piece reusable construction makes it easier to work with in tight installations.
