fitting says 7/16-20 JIC on one end and -04 hose on the other. just want to make sure that lines up with a standard -04 teflon braid line before i order a bunch of these

that lines up correctly. The hose end is sized for -04 hose, which is the standard designation for 1/4 inch inside diameter single wire braid Teflon line. The other end is a 7/16-20 female JIC 37 degree flare swivel, so it threads onto a male JIC fitting without needing any adapters in between. does this fitting need any kind of thread sealant when you put it together, or is it good to go as-is?

No sealant needed on this one. The 37-degree JIC flare connection seals on the metal-to-metal flare seat, so adding tape or compound would actually work against you. Just make sure your flare surfaces are clean and the swivel nut pulls up snug.
