trying to match up an old aeroquip fitting, is 412-2-5S the straight one with 1/8-27 male npt and for a -05 hose?
Answer by: Customer Support on Mar 15, 2026, 11:18 AM
Match it up by the key identifiers. 412-2-5S is a straight, steel, reusable three-piece fitting in the reduced bore series, with a 1/8-27 male NPT (NPTF) pipe thread end and it’s sized for -05 hose.
Question by: Jerry M on Nov 29, 2025, 6:01 AM
fitting says it needs a mandrel, is that something I gotta have on hand before I start the job or can I get away without it?
Answer by: Customer Support on Dec 1, 2025, 6:52 AM
A mandrel is required for installation on this fitting, so you'll want to have the right one before you get started. Trying to install without it can mess up the hose end and cause a poor seal. It's a small thing to track down ahead of time but it'll save you a headache on the job.
