Designed for thermal cycle applications, this Oetiker clamp uses an all 300 AISI series stainless steel construction with a tongue-in-groove design that delivers a complete 360° seal around the hose. The spring mechanism automatically compensates for thermal expansion, contraction, and vibration, which prevents cold water leaks without manual adjustment. Its low installation torque requirement of 12–18 lb-in reduces stress on delicate silicone hoses during fitting.

The Stepless Spring Clamp For Thermal Cycle Applications, 2.375 - 2.75 Inch Clamping Range, 0.35 Inch Width is suited for use on radiators, thermostat-to-water-pump connections, engine block connections, water pump-to-oil cooler lines, and heater hose applications. The clamp is self-tightening, lightweight, adjustable, and fully reusable. Installation involves engaging all tabs into the tightest window position before tightening the screw until the spring is fully compressed, then adding three additional full revolutions to achieve proper torque, confirmed by a minimum 1/8 inch gap between the two D-Nuts.

What size range of hose will this clamp fit on?

got a radiator hose that measures right around 2-1/2 inches, is this clamp in the right ballpark?

Fit comes down to the clamping range, and this one covers 2.375 to 2.75 inches. A hose sitting around 2-1/2 inches falls inside that range, so it is the right size range for that diameter.

does this clamp work on silicone hoses or is it gonna be too tight and mess up the hose material
