Constructed from 15% glass-filled PTFE with a rubber energizer, this seal provides excellent durability and resistance to wear. It is suitable for systems operating within a pressure range of 0 to 5,000 PSI and a temperature range of -40°F to 220°F, making it versatile for various applications.

The seal features a bore diameter of 2.50 inches, a groove diameter of 2.19 inches, and a seal cross-section of 0.067 inches, ensuring a precise fit. Manufactured by Hercules Sealing Products, this piston seal is designed for pistons without wear rings, providing a seamless integration. With tolerances carefully controlled, including a bore tolerance of ±0.002 inches and a piston diameter tolerance of +0/-0.005 inches, this product guarantees optimal sealing performance.

got a piston that measures 2.499, is this seal the right fit or am i gonna be fighting it

Fit comes down to the bore and piston dimensions this seal was built around. It is sized for a 2.50 inch bore with a piston diameter F of 2.499 inches, and it calls out a bore tolerance of plus or minus 0.002 inches and a piston diameter tolerance of +0 / -0.005 inches. If your piston is 2.499 and your bore is in that 2.50 range, it matches the intended sizing.

Got a cylinder with a 2.50 inch bore, this the right seal for that, and what should the piston diameter be machined to?

For a 2.50 inch bore, this seal fits right. The piston diameter dimension listed is 2.499 inches, with a tolerance of +0 and -0.005 inches. Keep in mind those dimensions are given for pistons without wear rings, so if your setup uses wear rings you'd want to account for that before assuming the fit is correct.
