Designed for direct-acting, spool-type control in hydraulic systems, the SV4-10-C Series 2-Way, 2-Position, Normally Closed Solenoid Cartridge Valve from Eaton Vickers handles flow rates up to 6 GPM at pressures up to 3000 PSI. In the de-energized state, flow is blocked in both directions; energizing the solenoid lifts the spool to permit bidirectional flow.
This configuration ships with an aluminum FR housing ported to 1/4" BSPP and a 230VAC coil with 1/2" NPT conduit connection. Buna-N seals provide reliable performance across a temperature range of -40°F to 248°F. The valve installs into a C-10-2 machined cavity, and recommended system filtration is ISO 4406 cleanliness level 18/16/13 or cleaner. The cartridge, housing, and J Series coil are each sold separately.
runs at 230VAC so this'll work on standard European voltage setups, but what's the actual flow capacity on this thing and can it handle the pressure we're running at 3000 PSI?

Rated right at 6 GPM and holds up to 3000 PSI, so if you're sitting at that pressure ceiling you're at the limit but within spec. Keep in mind that performance data is based on fluid at 105 SSU viscosity and 120 degrees Fahrenheit, so conditions outside that range may affect how it behaves in practice.

got a simple question. when it aint powered up, does this valve shut flow off both ways or just one direction?
Answer by: Customer Support on Nov 17, 2025, 6:56 AM
In the de-energized state it blocks flow in both directions. When you energize the solenoid, the spool lifts and then flow can go either direction through the cartridge.

Is this here valve gonna fit right into a C-10-2 cavity?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jun 18, 2025, 7:27 AM
Yes, ma'am, it's made to fit a C-10-2 size cavity. You'll need to get the housing separate, though.
