SV4B-12-3 Series 3-Way, 2-Position, Solenoid Cartridge Valve, Housing: None, Coil: Not Included

Description & Features

The SV4B-12-3 Series 3-Way, 2-Position, Solenoid Cartridge Valve by Eaton Vickers is designed for demanding industrial applications, including harvesters and refuse haulers. This direct-acting spool-type valve offers reliable performance under high pressure, with a maximum rating of 3000 PSI and a flow capacity of 11 GPM. Constructed from hardened and ground steel, it ensures durability and longevity in harsh conditions.

With an operational temperature range from -40°F to 248°F, and compatibility with ISO 4406 cleanliness level 18/16/13 or cleaner, this valve meets rigorous operational standards. In its de-energized position, the valve permits flow from port 1 to port 2, while port 3 remains blocked. Conversely, in the energized state, flow shifts from port 2 to port 3. Note that the valve requires a C-12-3 cavity size for installation, and both housing and coil are sold separately.

Question by: Ralph A on Feb 23, 2026, 11:54 AM
so with it sittin there de-energized, which ports are actually open and which one’s blocked?
Answer by: Customer Support on Feb 25, 2026, 11:38 AM
In the de-energized position, flow goes from port 1 to port 2 and port 3 is blocked. When you energize the solenoid, it switches so flow goes from port 2 to port 3 and port 1 is blocked.

How much hydraulic fluid can this thing handle? I'm runnin' some pretty hefty equipment.
Answer by: Customer Support on May 23, 2025, 6:23 AM
Flow rating on this valve is up to 11 gallons per minute.
Question by: Norm G on Aug 30, 2025, 8:55 AM
does this valve come with the coil and housing, or do i need to order those separate?
Answer by: Customer Support on Aug 31, 2025, 1:46 PM
The coil and housing are both sold separately on this one. The cartridge itself is what you're getting here, model SV4B-12-3P-0-00, and it requires a C-12-3 cavity size housing for installation. The coil you'll need is from the R Series. Neither piece ships with the valve, so make sure to add both before you put in your order if you need the complete setup.

Tell us what you need and we'll get back to you.
