Got a hydraulic line running 1/2" JIC on one end and 1/4" JIC on the other, this union gonna tie them two together without needing extra adapters in between?

That's exactly what this fitting handles. One side threads onto a 1/2" female JIC connection with a 3/4-16 UNF thread, and the other picks up a 1/4" female JIC at 7/16-20 UNF. Both ends swivel, so you get some rotational flexibility when you're making up the connection, which helps a lot when the lines aren't sitting perfectly aligned. No extra adapters needed for that size combination.
