Description & Features

Optimized for industrial applications the Tie Rod Hydraulic Cylinder by Bailey Intl Corp is engineered for precision and durability. Featuring a 3.00 inch bore and 1.25 inch rod diameter this cylinder offers an 8.00 inch stroke ensuring reliable performance in demanding environments.

Constructed with 1045 cast steel clevises and a 65-45-12 ductile iron cast head this cylinder is built to last. The ductile iron piston and heavy-duty Grade 8 piston nut torqued to specifications contribute to its robust design. Induction hardened chrome plated rods with a minimum of 90 hours on salt spray tests guarantee resistance to corrosion.

With a double-acting piston seal this cylinder also features single-acting capabilities. The special double lip U-cup seal and snap-in type wiper seals are designed to prevent exterior contamination and moisture ingress. Molded ribs provide additional stability and help avoid pressure trapping.

Compliant with static and dynamic pressure tests the cylinder is rated for a maximum operating pressure of 2500 PSI supporting loads up to 17600 lb. The 1/2 NPT ports facilitate efficient connectivity.

got a push load application running around 17,000 lbs, this cylinder gonna hold up or am I cutting it too close?

At max, this cylinder is rated to support loads up to 17,600 lbs at 2500 PSI, so 17,000 lbs puts you right near the ceiling. Worth keeping in mind that the suggested pushing load figures are based on a minimum safety factor of 2, and long-stroke setups can have lower full extension ratings due to column loading concerns. For a sustained load that close to the rated limit, leaving more headroom in your operating pressure would be the safer play.

How much can this cylinder actually push? Specs say 17600 lb, just want to be sure.

That 17600 lb figure is the rated load, which factors in the cylinder's 2500 PSI maximum operating pressure. So, under normal conditions, it'll handle that load without issue.
