Description & Features

Built for reliability the Custom 4 x 12 Cylinder offers a 4-inch bore and a 1.25-inch rod diameter complemented by a 12-inch stroke. Engineered with 1045 cast steel clevises and a robust ductile iron cast head this hydraulic cylinder ensures durability in demanding conditions.

This model's double-acting piston seal and specialized snap-in type wiper seals provide efficient performance effectively preventing contamination and moisture ingress. Induction hardened chrome-plated rods are tested for longevity ensuring a minimum of 90 hours on ASTM B117-02 salt spray tests.

The maximum operating pressure of 2500 PSI coupled with 1/2 NPT ports makes it ideal for heavy-duty applications. With a rated load capacity of 19 600 lbs. and a pressure rating of 1550 it delivers consistent performance. The 65-45-12 ductile iron piston and Grade 8 piston nut are engineered to meet stringent specifications.

Designed with both static and dynamic pressure tests in mind all cylinders including this model are rigorously tested to ensure optimal functionality. Note that long stroke cylinders like this have lower full extension ratings to prevent excessive column loading.

What kinda pressure can this cylinder handle, cause I got some heavy lifting to do?

This hydraulic cylinder is rated for a maximum operating pressure of 2500 PSI, with a pressure rating of 1550. It's built for heavy-duty applications, able to handle a rated load of 19,600 lbs.

Rod's only 1.25 inches on a 4-inch bore cylinder, that seem kinda undersized for pushing near the rated load?

For pulling applications it works just fine, but the rod diameter does affect how much load you can safely push at full extension. Long stroke cylinders like this one carry a lower full extension rating specifically because of column loading, which is basically the risk of the rod buckling under compression over a longer span. The rated load of 19,600 lbs is based on a pin-to-pin mounting calculation, and the manufacturer recommends a minimum safety factor of 2 when figuring your maximum pushing load. So if you're running this thing near full extension under heavy push loads, back off and work within those column load tables rather than relying on the headline rated load number.
