Equipped with 1/2 NPT ports the cylinder design includes a 1045 cast steel clevis and a 65-45-12 ductile iron cast head guaranteeing extended service life and durability under rigorous conditions. It also features induction-hardened chrome-plated rods that withstand minimum 90 hours of salt spray tests per ASTM B117-02 procedure.

Double-acting piston seals and double lip U-cup seal single acting on the rod ensure superior sealing with snap-in type wiper seals designed to prevent exterior contamination. The maximum operating pressure of the cylinder stands at 2500 PSI accommodating demanding industrial applications.

The ductile iron piston and proof pressure of 5000 PSI further enhance the cylinder's operational efficiency. Each unit undergoes comprehensive static and dynamic pressure tests to meet industry standards.

trying to replace a cylinder on a piece of equipment, what do i need to match up so this one fits right

The big items on this cylinder are the 4.00 inch bore, 1.50 inch rod, and 18.00 inch stroke, plus the mounting dimensions. It has 1.00 inch pin diameter, 28.25 inches pin-to-pin retracted, and 46.25 inches pin-to-pin extended. Port size is 1/2 NPT.

Rod's chrome plated on this one, but how's it hold up if it's gonna be sitting outside or exposed to moisture for long stretches?

Pretty well, actually. The rod goes through an induction hardening process before the chrome plating is applied, and every unit gets tested to a minimum of 90 hours of salt spray exposure following the ASTM B117-02 procedure. On top of that, the wiper seals are a snap-in design with molded ribs that actively block moisture and outside contamination from working their way in. So for outdoor or damp environments, the cylinder is built to handle it without the rod deteriorating quickly.
