Question by: Scott C on Feb 28, 2026, 1:36 PM
i got -08 hose on the truck, does this elbow crimp end match up with a 7/8-14 JIC fitting or am i mixing stuff up
Answer by: Customer Support on Mar 2, 2026, 6:16 AM
You want the two key callouts to line up: it’s a -08 hose crimp fitting, and the swivel end is a 7/8-14 Female JIC 37 degree flare (SAE 37). If your mating connection is a JIC 37 degree male in 7/8-14, that’s the match this fitting is built for.
Question by: Bobby P on Nov 11, 2025, 11:34 AM
What kind of hydraulic jobs is this fitting really good for?
Answer by: Customer Support on Nov 13, 2025, 6:19 AM
This fitting works best for general hydraulic systems with low to medium pressure requirements. It's also recommended to use H277 or H435 hoses when there's a chance of shocks or vibrations.
Question by: Rod T on Apr 16, 2025, 8:40 PM
fitting says it works for general purpose hydraulics, but we got some shock hazard situations on this machine. that gonna be a problem?
Answer by: Customer Support on Apr 18, 2025, 1:40 PM
For shock hazard applications, this fitting is not the right call. The product is specifically rated for general purpose low and medium pressure hydraulics, and the specs call out that H277 or H435 hose should be used wherever shock hazards are present. Running this fitting in a shock environment is outside what it's built for, so you'd want to source a fitting matched to one of those hose lines instead.
