i got a -16 hose and need a straight female JIC end, is this the right fitting or am I missing something
Answer by: Customer Support on Aug 4, 2025, 8:37 AM
For a -16 hose, this one matches that hose size and it is a straight female JIC 37 degree flare end with 1-1/16-12 threads. It is a steel crimp fitting in the Aeroquip TTC line, so it is meant to be crimped onto the hose.
Question by: Chad G on Aug 15, 2025, 3:58 PM
trying to match up a hose end here, is 1AA12FJ16 the straight female JIC 37 flare for a -16 hose?
Answer by: Customer Support on Aug 17, 2025, 2:10 PM
For a straight crimp hose end, 1AA12FJ16 is the female SAE JIC 37 degree flare style with 1-1/16-12 threads, made to crimp onto a -16 hose.

Will this fitting hold up in a hydraulic system that sees a lot of vibration?
Answer by: Customer Support on Dec 15, 2025, 12:27 PM
This fitting is intended for general purpose, low to medium pressure hydraulic applications where shock hazards are a concern, especially when used with H277 or H435 hoses.
Question by: Patty B on Mar 2, 2026, 7:51 PM
fitting says no mandrel needed, does that mean i can just crimp it straight onto the hose without any prep tools?
Answer by: Customer Support on Mar 4, 2026, 6:39 AM
Correct, no mandrel is required for this fitting. You crimp it directly onto compatible H277 or H435 hose without needing to insert a mandrel beforehand. That simplifies the process quite a bit, especially if you're working in the field or don't have a full shop setup handy. Just make sure your crimper is set up for the -16 hose size and you're good to go.
