trying to swap out a fitting i busted, is this one the straight female JIC swivel for a -24 hose with 1-7/8-12 threads?
Answer by: Customer Support on Nov 12, 2025, 7:10 PM
For replacement fit, you are looking at a straight steel crimp fitting with a female JIC 37 degree flare swivel on one end and a -24 hose end on the other. The JIC thread is 1-7/8-12.

Hey, I'm trying to replace a fitting on my backhoe – think this one'll work with my -24 hose?
Answer by: Customer Support on May 31, 2025, 6:33 AM
This fitting is designed to accommodate a -24 hose size, which should make it a suitable replacement if that's what you're currently using. Just double-check the thread size and type (1-7/8-12 Female JIC 37 deg Flare) to make sure it matches your existing setup.
Question by: Freddie W on Jul 31, 2025, 8:35 AM
fitting says no thread sealant needed -- is that right for a JIC 37 degree flare connection or do i still need to tape the threads?
Answer by: Customer Support on Aug 2, 2025, 6:05 AM
JIC 37-degree flare connections seal on the flare seat itself, not on the threads, so no tape or sealant is needed here. The metal-to-cone contact is what creates the seal. Adding thread sealant to a JIC fitting can actually interfere with proper seating and torque feel, so leaving it dry is the correct call with this one.
