trying to swap out an old elbow fitting, what do i need to match up on this one so it fits right?

fitting says no mandrel needed, does that mean i can crimp it with a standard shop crimper or does it need something special?

Standard crimping equipment handles these just fine. The no-mandrel design means you skip the internal support sleeve that some fittings require during the crimp process, which cuts down on setup steps and keeps things moving faster. As long as your crimper is set up for the hose dash size, you're good to go with the -08 hose this fitting is rated for.
