got a -16 hose and need a straight female swivel end, is this the right one?
Answer by: Customer Support on May 23, 2025, 7:31 PM
For a straight crimp fitting on a -16 hose with a 1-11-1/2 Female NPSM swivel, this part matches that setup. It’s a steel TTC fitting meant for general purpose low to medium pressure hydraulic service, and it’s called out as compatible with H277 or H435 hose.
Question by: Pete W on Oct 29, 2025, 10:21 AM
fitting says no thread sealant needed, is that right for the female NPSM swivel end, or should I still be putting something on there just to be safe?
Answer by: Customer Support on Oct 30, 2025, 10:44 AM
NPSM threads are a straight mechanical thread, not a tapered pipe thread, so the sealing action comes from the swivel seat contact rather than thread engagement. No sealant is needed or recommended for this fitting. Applying tape or compound to an NPSM swivel can actually interfere with the seat seal and cause problems rather than prevent them.
