got a -12 hose and need a straight male pipe end, is this the right crimp fitting for that?

fitting says it works with H277 or H435 hose, does that mean it won't work with other wire braid hoses, or is that just what's recommended for shock situations?

Those two hose types are specifically called out for applications where shock hazards are a concern. For general low and medium pressure hydraulic work, this is a 1A series crimp fitting built for wire braid hoses, so the H277 and H435 are the confirmed compatible options backed by the manufacturer. Running it with something outside that list isn't something we can confirm, so sticking with those two is the safe call.
