trying to replace a straight male pipe end on my -06 hose, is this the right one with 1/4-18 threads?

fitting says no mandrel needed, does that mean i can crimp this straight onto a -06 hose without any extra tooling inside the hose end?

Correct, no mandrel is required for this fitting. That simplifies the crimp process quite a bit since you're not having to source or seat a separate internal component before crimping.
