Will this fitting hold up for general hydraulic use on my farm equipment?
Answer by: Customer Support on Apr 22, 2025, 8:33 AM
This fitting is designed for general purpose, low to medium pressure hydraulic systems. It's suitable for applications where you might run into some shock hazards, so it should be a reliable choice for farm equipment.
Question by: Vince M on Sep 5, 2025, 1:04 PM
fitting says no mandrel or thread sealant needed, is that actually right for SAE o-ring boss connections, or is that just for certain setups?
Answer by: Customer Support on Sep 7, 2025, 7:13 AM
For SAE o-ring boss fittings, that's correct. The sealing happens through the o-ring itself making contact with the boss seat, so thread sealants like tape or paste aren't needed and can actually interfere with a proper seal. No mandrel is required on the hose side either, which keeps installation straightforward. Just make sure the o-ring is in good shape and seated right before torquing down.
