Will this thing bolt right up to a standard log splitter?

Running this off a 5 or 6 horse engine, will it keep up when the wood gets tough and the cycle times get long?

Two-stage pumps like this one handle that kind of work pretty well. At low pressure it runs on the high-flow rear section, which is the 0.52 cubic inch side, to move the ram fast. Once resistance builds up, the unloading valve shifts flow to the front stage, which is the smaller 0.19 cubic inch side, to push hard through the tough stuff. The built-in check valve keeps things from backflowing between stages. For a 5 to 6 horsepower engine turning this at reasonable speed, that split displacement setup is exactly what log splitter duty is built around.

got a 4-bolt mount and a 1/2 straight keyed shaft on my splitter, is this the right style pump for that?

It matches a 4-bolt mounting flange and a 1/2 inch straight shaft that uses a woodruff key. Porting is also defined on this model with a 1 inch tube inlet and 1/2 inch NPTF outlet ports, so those connection types need to line up with what you are hydraulic connections.
