Steam lines run close to where I'd be hooking this up, this coupling gonna hold up to that kind of heat, or is there a temp ceiling I need to worry about?

Keep it away from steam service entirely. That's a hard no for this coupling regardless of proximity or exposure level. For temperature, it's rated to handle anywhere from -20°F up to 160°F using the standard rubber washer, so general shop heat near steam lines isn't automatically a dealbreaker, but direct steam contact or steam service use is not something it's built for.
