With a maximum operating pressure of 1250 PSI, the hose is suitable for diesel fuel, gasoline, hot lube oil, and water applications. Its 2-ply braid construction ensures robust performance, while the blue AQPreg; elastomer cover offers added protection against environmental factors.

Featuring a minimum bend radius of 1.75 inches and a vacuum service rating of 28, the hose allows for flexible installation in various configurations. The 0.41-inch inner diameter and 0.76-inch outer diameter provide optimal flow rates in marine fuel systems. Additionally, the hose is SAE J1942-1 (May 2002) qualified, eliminating the need for a firesleeve.

hose is rated for marine fuel lines but does it actually need a firesleeve on top of it or is it good to go as-is?

No firesleeve required. The FC234 is a qualified hose under SAE J1942-1 and meets the USCG Type A1 standard, which already includes flame resistance and increased permeation resistance built into the construction. The braided refractory insulation is part of the hose itself, so you're not adding anything extra to get compliant on a marine fuel line install.

hose rated for gasoline or just diesel? got a marine fuel setup and need somethin that'll handle both without breaking down

Both fuels are covered. The FC234-08 is built to handle gasoline, diesel, hot lube oil, and water, so running either fuel type through it won't be an issue for a marine setup. The AQP elastomer tube is what gives it that fluid compatibility, and the 2-ply braid construction keeps it from softening or degrading under real working conditions.
