VD12A Series SALAMI VD12A/U4S

Description & Features

The VD12A Series offers high durability and efficiency in demanding conditions. Engineered by Salami S.p.A, this valve outlet is designed to handle maximum operating pressures of 4000 PSI on "P" ports and 4500 PSI on "A" and "B" ports. With a maximum back pressure of 363 PSI on the outlet port "T," it ensures optimal performance.

It operates effectively within an ambient temperature range of 86deg;F to 140deg;F and a fluid temperature range of -4deg;F to 185deg;F with standard NBR seals. Its internal leakage rates range from 2.43 to 3.34 insup3;/min at 2285 PSI, making it a reliable choice for industrial applications.

The flow rating for the VD12A Series stands at 48 GPM, and it supports fluid viscosities ranging from 12 cSt to 75 cSt, with an optimal range and a minimum of 10 cSt and a maximum of 460 cSt. Technical data for this product was gathered using mineral oil with a viscosity of 16 cSt and a contamination level of 19/16 as per ISO 4406 standards.

Recommended filtration is according to ISO 4406: 19/16, ensuring minimal contamination and efficient operation.

Question by: Wayne H on May 27, 2025, 9:37 AM
got a system that sees 4,000 psi on the pressure line. is this VD12A/U4S ok on the P port, or am i pushin it
Answer by: Customer Support on May 28, 2025, 10:46 AM
On the pressure port marked "P", the maximum operating pressure is 4000 PSI. Ports "A" and "B" are rated higher at 4500 PSI, so the port you load matters.
Question by: Ralph H on Nov 5, 2025, 3:12 PM
Running this on a system that sits around 130°F ambient pretty regular. That gonna be a problem for the VD12A?
Answer by: Customer Support on Nov 7, 2025, 6:02 AM
At 130°F ambient you're well within the rated range. The VD12A series is tested for ambient temperatures up to 140°F, so that kind of operating environment shouldn't cause any concern. Fluid temperature is a separate consideration though. As long as your hydraulic fluid stays between -4°F and 185°F with standard NBR seals, you're in good shape on that front too.
Question by: Clint F on Jan 17, 2026, 8:11 AM
What kinda fluid should I be runnin' in this thing?
Answer by: Customer Support on Jan 18, 2026, 6:42 PM
Optimal fluid viscosity for the VD12A Series valve is between 12 cSt and 75 cSt, though it can handle 10 cSt to 460 cSt. All the data was gathered using mineral oil with a viscosity of 16 cSt.
Question by: Ross C on Feb 16, 2026, 12:19 PM
got a system that runs right around 3,800 psi. are the pressure limits different on the P port vs the A and B ports on this VD12A/U4S?
Answer by: Customer Support on Feb 18, 2026, 6:48 AM
Pressure ratings are split by port on this valve outlet. The maximum operating pressure is 4000 PSI on the P port, and 4500 PSI on the A and B ports.
Question by: Dwayne H on Nov 2, 2025, 9:56 AM
Will this work with regular hydraulic fluid, or do I need something special?
Answer by: Customer Support on Nov 4, 2025, 6:12 AM
This valve outlet is designed for use with hydraulic fluids within a viscosity range of 10 cSt to 460 cSt, with optimal performance between 12 cSt and 75 cSt. The technical data was gathered using mineral oil with a viscosity of 16 cSt, so that’s a good baseline.
