SALAMI VD6A/U4S is engineered for superior performance in sectional applications. The cast-iron bodies allow for up to 8 work sections enabling parallel series and tandem circuits with load check valve protection on each section. With open and closed center configurations and power beyond options the hardened steel nickel-plated spools enhance durability. The valve supports various spool selections including double acting single acting motor control and float. The unit operates efficiently within an ambient temperature range of -22deg;F to 140deg;F and can handle fluid temperatures from -4deg;F to 185deg;F with standard NBR seals. A flow rating of 12 GPM and a maximum operating pressure of 5100 PSI on ports P A and B are supported. Additionally the valve accommodates fluid viscosities from 12 cSt to 75 cSt optimal and offers internal leakage rates of 1.1 - 1.52 insup3;/min at 2285 PSI. Versatile control options include manual cable electric electro-hydraulic proportional hydraulic pneumatic proportional pneumatic and electro-pneumatic. Auxiliary valves for ports A and B as well as several types of mid-inlet modules are available.

Running up to 8 work sections on this thing, does each one actually get its own load check protection or is that just on select circuits?

Every work section includes load check valve protection, regardless of how the circuits are arranged. Whether you're running parallel, series, or tandem configurations, each section is covered. That's baked into how the VD6A is built, not something you have to add on separately.

trying to keep my oil temps in check. what ambient and fluid temp range will this VD6A/U4S handle with the standard seals?

For standard NBR seals, the ambient temperature range is -22°F to 140°F, and the hydraulic fluid temperature range is -4°F to 185°F.
