What kind of connections does this shut off valve use, and will it thread onto standard pipe fittings?

Both ends are NPTF, which stands for National Pipe Taper Fuel. That thread form creates a pressure-tight seal on its own without relying solely on tape or sealant, and both ends are 1/4 inch. The male end goes in, the female end receives. Standard NPT fittings and NPTF fittings share the same thread dimensions, so yes, it'll thread onto common pipe fittings without any trouble.
