trying to swap over to a G1/2 port but my tube side is metric, is this the piece that bridges those two?

Does this adapter go from a BSPP thread on one end to a metric fitting on the other, or am I reading that wrong?

You're reading it right. One end is a G1/2 BSPP male thread and the other is a Metric 24 male end. It's a straight configuration, so there's no angle to it, just a direct inline transition between those two thread standards. The tube ID it supports is 1.5875 mm, so make sure that lines up with your circuit before you order.
